English: Asian U23 Men’s Foil
On 30 October 2026, the Asian Under-23 Fencing Championships in Manama, Bahrain, staged individual day three, including men’s foil and women’s épée.
In men’s foil, Hong Kong’s LAU Kenji Tsun Yin (FIE #58325) took gold. The 18-year-old left-hander shared a perfect 6/6 pool record with teammate YUEN Chi Shun Michael and was seeded first; his path included a 15–13 round-of-16 win over teammate Choi Chi Lok, then a 15–14 final over Qatar’s Adham Eldeeb after the bout reached 14–14. Bronze: YUEN Chi Shun Michael (FIE #54532, age 20). All four Hong Kong men’s foilists cleared the pools (also Choi Chi Lok and Kam Cheuk Hang).
Same-day context only: Hong Kong’s 吳琬琳 took women’s épée bronze. This post stays focused on the men’s foil title bout.

A note for parents
From Head Coach Lau Kwok Kin (Headcoach Kin / 總教練 劉國堅): a 15–14 final is a clear lesson for young foilists — composure when the score is tight, and focus on the last touch, often matter as much as any single technical detail. An Asian U23 men’s foil title at 18, with a teammate on the same podium, also shows that the HK boys’ foil pathway is real. Encourage boys and girls who fence foil to treat every pool bout as learning and every DE bout as composure practice. To try a Professional class pathway at our Central club, Book a Trial / 預約試堂.
